I was running at the sea towards the wave in a sad, it is around 8:00pm no one are there around me, I fall in the water due to the force I went deep inside the water, I was unable to breathe, I took a deep breathe, I opened my eyes I see that it's just dream.
19/2/2022: Night 2:00am. I was in deep thinking, suddenly My mobile started vibrating, I see that it was a call from Indu as she is my only friend of mine, I pick the call, said that she is been waiting in the car outside the function hall.
I cut the call and thinking what to write a note as I am running away from my marriage. I took a pen and wrote that the fault is mine, as I don't want to marry a person whom I don't love, I don't have choice rather than running away.
I opened the door, I see still few people are awake, they were doing some arrangements, I was looking for my father, I went to their rooms, seen that dad is sleeping in the room, as usual mom is sleeping in another room.
I took out the cap from my bag and put it on my head. I slowly walked out from the function hall. It has been nearly 20 mins to come out, as my parents booked big function hall in the city, it is really a big fat Indian wedding, I see the decorations were great. The flowers, lightings, the color combinations for the decoration everything is good, but in the morning, everything will be ruined.
A car stopped in front of me, I was scared all of the sudden, the car glass was down I see that it is Indu, where she came in lose T-shirt and half pants with big hair bun. I hop on into the car immediately.
Indu raised the window glass, started the car, after 15 mins drive, "Arav, I don't know what will happen tomorrow, your news is going to come with big headline in front newspaper, Whole India is going to know that a prestigious businessman's son run away from the marriage."
"Hmm, we are nearly 5 kms away from the function hall, just shut your mouth and drive now." Soon we reached the airport, as I left all my belongings in the function hall, Indu has given a new mobile and sim card, she has given her credit card also, I was going to the Lakshadweep Islands. After running away from my marriage, my dad is going to find me surely if I stay in India. I can't use my passport as he will drag me from there if he knows where I am staying. I left all my belongings on the bed, even my passport. As I have no choice, left to the Lakshadweep Islands, where I can travel without passport. it is 4:00 am I went inside the airport all boarding formalities has completed the plane take off exactly at 6:10 am and landed at 7:25 am.
I draw the cash from atm and went to resort nearby place. I checked in, as the rooms were very clean. I went straight to the room had bath, dress up and went to the bed, I closed my eyes, there were running millions of questions, how mom and dad are going to handle the situation, I took the mobile and dialed to my mom's number, stopped and closed my eyes and slept, from past week I was too busy in the wedding preparations I didn't got a time to sleep.
I opened my eyes and looked out from the window where it is dark, I see that it is 7:40 pm I woke up from the bed, I washed my face and went out to have dinner.
I was walking with the mobile in my hand. where my eyes on the screen, I suddenly hit someone I raised my head and saw that a man was chasing another man, where he is having knife in his hand. I was startled for a second. I kept moving from the place, put the mobile in the pocket. I was enjoying the weather as it is good, I can hear the waves sound from the beach.
I ran to the beach and sitting in the sand and looking into the sky where the moon is not yet full, but the view the weather and climate, everything is so good I lay on the sand and thinking about everything that I have done in my life. I just obeyed my parents, surpassing my feelings, my emotions, I just followed their orders, but for the first time, I took a step, and I am to unable to stop thinking.
I see that a boy who is 5 years old was sitting beside me and playing in the sand. I was staring the boy. I just wanted to be that, it would so good if I was that boy. I sudden hear a voice far from the place as "Chotu".
I turned my face and see that a lady who is like between 25 to 30 years age, was walking towards me.
"Chotu why are you out at late night. come let's go." she was trying to take him home, but that kid is stubborn and still sitting in the sand, I took out he chocolate from my pocket and hold in my hand and placed the two hands in front of the kid and asked him to choose the hand, the boy hold the boy chooses both hands, I didn't expect the boy to be smart one. I opened both the hand where I hold chocolate in both hands. by seeing this the lady smiled and said, "Prem has spoiled you so much Chotu, say thanks to uncle." the kid looked into my eyes and said thanks.
The lady also said thanks to me. she was about to leave the place, I stopped her and asked is there any hotels that are still opened as it is so late and from the morning, I didn't have anything.
"Oh, it is already about to 10:00 pm by the time all the hotels will be closed but you can check into ours, I was about to close, just came to pick my son." said the lady.
I took the boy into my arms and we walk to the hotel as it is around 400mtrs it took 10 mins, "Oh I forgot to ask your name." (Lady)
I was about to tell my name as Arav, but stopped and said, "Nani".
"It's different is it your nick name." lady asked.
"no it's my actual name, where my grandfather loved this name and he chosen this name for me."
"I am Leela."
I nodded my head, we reached the hotel, it is pretty good one, which is classic the painting on the wall, the color of the table and lighting which matches really nice, where olive and cream color, gives classic look on the walls and burgundy color tables which has stollen my eyes. I sat on the table. the lady came to me and asked that "you are nonvegetarian, rite."
I nodded my head as no, then she said that "sorry Nani, veg dishes are rare on the menu, as the guest are all foreigners they prefer to have nonveg only, let me prepare something within a 10 minutes."
she ran into the kitchen, as Chotu is playing at the reception with cube, I checked the gate whether it is closed or not and went into the kitchen, I stopped her as I see the tiredness in her face as she might be working from the morning, I make her sit on the chair, I was looking as there is anything which I could eat with the rice, I went to fridge and seen that there is a curd in the bowl, I took out the curd and luckily I find the mango pickle which is on the rack.
"it's my bad I never let the people down who stepped here, I feel bad." (Leela)
"See sis, for me there is no delicious food rather than curd rice with mango pickle." she took the plate and put the rice in the plate, as I was waiting with curd and pickle on the table, she put the plate in front of me served curd and pickle, she hand overed the spoon to me to mix, I put them on the table, and started mix rice and curd with my hand, she started laughing to me. I raised my head and seen her face, but didn't feel anything bad, said as, "while eating we shouldn't feel shy."
"Sorry Nani, I didn't mean it. by seeing this I just remembered someone." (Leela)
"it's ok sis, no problem this is desi style where we should eat the curd rice like this by licking the fingers." sis went to the Chotu to check him what he is doing
Right at the moment someone entered inside, I see that a man who is tall with good body structure, but bad at dress sense, I see that he is wearing black color cargo pants with mustard yellow Tunk top, with a serious face and the eyebrows furrowed, walking carelessly towards me, I just remembered that he is the same person who I hit at the beach where he was holding the knife, by seeing him I stood from the table and started to shout that murderer, he walked fast towards me, hold my right hand and twisted it, as turned back to him, I was about to throw my left hand to him, he hold my two hand's wrist with just single hand and closed my mouth with his left hand as I was shouting, I turned my head towards right and staring that man's eyes, I don't know why I lost into those eyes, I forgot that I still didn't wash my hands, I was too close to him, where I can clearly hear the voice of his heart beat where it reminds me the sound of the wave.
Sis came to us and shouted as, "Prem stop, why are you misbehaving with the guest." he pushed me aside from me, walked to the first floor through the steps with and anger.
"Sis, he is a murder, I saw him as he was chasing a man with the knife." she laughed to me and said, "Calm down Nani, he seems to be bad person but I am sure that he is kindhearted in the entire Island."
I was thinking that how could be someone kind who carries knife, "Sis, who is he?"
"He name is Prem, one who takes care of me and Chotu as well as owner of the restaurant."
"Oh Sis, he is your husband?"
"No, his is guardian to me and Chotu, he is like more than own brother."
As I don't want to interfere into people's private life, I didn't ask much. I washed my hands, I was about to leave, I see that Prem was coming down from the steps where he had quick bath and well dressed, he was about to go out.
"Wait, where are you going Prem at this late night?" (Leela)
"Zara came to the Island, obviously going to meet her." (Prem)
"How simple are you saying this, when are you bring her to me?" (Leela)
"Sis, don't you know about me, why would I bring her, not only her I am not bringing anyone." (Prem)
By listening to them I was confused, anyway I don't have intention on their conversation, "Sis, I am leaving now."
"Where do you stay?" (Leela)
"Dream resort."
"Ok, wait, Prem is going to that way, he will drop you there." (Leela)
"I can go by myself..." I look into both of them where their expressions were same as irritated after my words, I can guess what they were thinking, most probably Prem is irritated because of me, Sis is irritated as I refused to her words. As I and Prem don't have choice, we had to listen to her after seeing her angry face.
"Nani, I will invite for the dinner on some other day, make sure to visit again."(Leela)
I nodded my head as ok, Chotu came to me and hugged me and said goodbye, I see that Prem is in jealous, when Chotu hugged me, he kneels down in front of Chotu, where Chotu hugged him with a bright and happy face and Prem's face is so much happy and satisfied by hugging Chotu.
Prem took out the bike, which is so fancy and sports bike, he wears the helmet and given one to wear, he started the bike, it was my fast time, where I was hoping on the bike, I was tensed by sitting behind him, I think in the mirror he watched my face. I was placing my hands on my thigs, he grabbed my hands and put them on his waist. I see that Sis and Chotu waving to us.
Prem was riding the bike, where weather was so good, I was sitting to close to him, where I can sniff his body fragrance, which is a good combination of Vanilla, orange and Ylang Ylang. where it really smells like heavenly, within a short period of time we reached the resort. I got down from the bike and said thanks to him, I see that Prem's nodded as without any facial expression as if he doesn't care about anything.
I was entering into the resort, I see that a lady was passing from me with a beautiful face and dressed like her body structure is clearly visible but not skin, I turned my head and see that she was going to Prem.
As it is not my business, I keep walking to the room, I opened the door and changed my dress, I was checking for the mobile in my pant, I suddenly remember that while holding Prem waist, he took the mobile and he put it in his pocket, and I forgot to take it back from him.
I opened the door and went outside, I see that bike is not there, I walked little bit far from the place, I see that Prem and that lady were sitting on a bench where she is leaning on his shoulder, I went close to them to take my mobile.
"Prem, dad has arranged the marriage for me, it is in April, exactly two months left, I was tensed."
there was a bit silence between them within a 5 second lady asked that "Are you even listening to my words?"
Prem answered as "Hmm...."
"Shall we both get married now itself " (Lady)
"See Zara, don't you know I hate marriage and relationships, I can't even love anyone." (Prem)
"Hmm, If you are feared of your personal space I ready with anything, after our marriage you can be still go on dates with whom ever you want." (Lady)
After listening to her words I was shocked how can a person ok with such things. I see that Prem is laughing by listening her words, I and that girl both annoyed by his laugh.
"Why are you laughing? I am talking to you seriously." (Lady)
Prem turned towards her and kissed on her forehead, I was shock by his action, now I feel pity on her, and got to know why she wants to marry him.
"Zara please listen carefully to my words, Do you really want to marry in the life." (Prem)
"Yes, I want to marry you, I want to have the family with you." (Lady)
"Ok, we have been known each other since 5 years, you know very about me and I know very well about you, who knows I may be bored of you after sticking 24\7 with each other." (Prem)
"You don't love me?" (Lady)
"Frankly speaking, Noooo" (Prem)
"What is there between us then?" (Lady)
"I have a huge respect towards you, I care about you, but may be friends with benefits, but it's not love." (Prem)
though it was dark, I see that tears are rolling in the eyes.
"I know you love yourself so much, irritating idiot." (Lady)
I see that Prem is smiling, and I was more annoyed by his smile and smirk, but he can't know that I was smirking towards him as I was hiding in the trees.
"Zara, calm down, probably you father might choose you a good person who is better than me." (Prem)
"What if he is not good as you?"
"let me give the example, If I give you a certain ingredient and ask you to cook what ever dish you want with that ingredients as per your choice, what will you do." (Prem)
"I will cook what I like the most."
"In the same way, you can make him better or you improve better yourself, got it?" (Prem)
"What if I have chosen a wrong dish for the wrong ingredients?" (Lady)
"Then simple change the dish or ingredients." (Prem)
"What if I don't want to cook the food?" (Lady)
"You, naughty I know what you are thinking, but I know very well, you are not a person who gives up so easily, I can trust on myself more than you, because I taught you very well." (Prem)
"Then, let me show you what I have learnt from you tonight." (Lady)
I see that she holds his face and started kissing him, I don't want to see the things between them, I slowly came out from there and went into the room, I locked my door and lay on the bed. I was all thinking about the conversation between them, how clarity they both have about their life, they both are so confident about themselves, if anything bad happens they can handle the things as they wanted and here I am where I messed my life everything and I want to talk with my mom, I miss her so much.
